Song for the Survivor

This road has been too long
And the path was never straight
Broken down you were afflicted
By the ones you thought were safe

They spoke of your salvation
And you believed they held the key
So you walked the path they showed you
And you gave them everything

I hear your song and I know that you are weary
I see the tears and I feel how hard you’ve cried
But in the morning when this night is finally over
We’ll rejoice as we dance in Heaven’s light
And stand together at the feet of Christ

As the truth became illumined
The shadows feared the light would come
And you were scared they’d overtake you
But still you followed on

There’s a strength I see inside you
Though the devil says you’re weak
To rise against opression
And stand in Jesus victory
